Arise, Sir David: Football Legend Honoured by King Charles at Windsor Castle Ceremony
David Beckham received a knighthood at the historic royal residence on the weekday. The former England captain, fifty, was among those accepting honours for his contributions to athletics and charity. In recent months, he stated he was “immensely proud” of being acknowledged in the King’s birthday honours.
Soccer Achievements
Beckham made his Premier League debut for the Red Devils in 1995 and was part of the team that earned a thrilling Champions League final victory in the late nineties when they beat Bayern Munich with last-minute strikes.
Overall, he scored 85 goals and collected honours including multiple English championships and two FA Cups as a footballer, before retiring from the sport in the past decade. Alongside his football career, he has supported a number of charity causes, including serving as a charitable representative for global aid group Unicef since 2005.

In the late nineties he was named top fashion icon by a leading publication and he has posed for brands like the fashion retailer, the Italian designer, and Boss.
David married his wife Victoria in the turn of the millennium and the couple have a family of four kids together – their eldest, the second son, Cruz, and their daughter.
