Pat Bamford Joins the Blades After Initiating Derogatory Chants Targeting Manager Chris Wilder

The striker has signed with the Championship side just half a year following starting derogatory songs targeting their manager, Chris Wilder.

This experienced striker, a free agent since leaving Leeds United, has agreed to a deal joining the second-tier strugglers through the winter. His lengthy career at Elland Road concluded amicably this past summer.

Among the player's last memorable actions while at Leeds involved leading offensive songs regarding Wilder during Leeds' promotion celebrations in April. Currently, the one-cap England player will be playing under Wilder as Sheffield United's boss aims to pull the team he loves out of the relegation zone.

Previous Conflict Between Bamford & Wilder

Both men had previous conflict prior to Leeds won promotion to the Premier League the previous campaign and United were defeated in the promotion decider by Sunderland. The manager described Bamford as a "muppet" when the roles were reversed in 2018-19 and the Blades secured direct promotion whereas Leeds United missed out in the playoffs.

Making Amends & Moving Forward

Everything appears to have been put behind them with United, the league's least productive attack, in desperate need of a boost in attack while Bamford aiming to revive his career.

The Wilder chant went viral in April. A repentant Patrick and the Leeds manager, Farke, phoned the Sheffield United manager the following day.

Chris Wilder stated back then: “Spoke with Pat yesterday and I have no problem at all with that. I’m not sure regarding the words used from a fellow pro! But I valued and respected him giving me a call.

“We spent a short while and similarly I talked with Daniel too and had a half-hour chat with him and he's a great person, a class act. When I was playing we used to give it and accept it and that is part and parcel of the game at every level, including Sunday league. I've got no problem at all. I'm fine with it and I said that to Pat.”

Latest Playing Struggles

The forward featured in 18 games for Leeds last season however the ex- Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Middlesbrough player has faced difficulties with injury in recent years.
