Devoted followers of the actress are demanding that a man who jumped a barrier and touched the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A viral footage shows the Australian man bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the cast made its way down a promenade accompanied by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "released after being detained", though official papers indicated that he was scheduled to appear on the following morning. It is unknown if he was charged.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile features clips of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is evidently a legal violation," commented an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Fans Show Disapproval Over the Star's Safety

Many followers accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented a further comment on Instagram.

A number of fans also questioned security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while some demanded social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In footage spreading on the internet, Grande looked startled when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Hundreds of supporters had congregated in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had queued for as long as eight hours before it started.

The film, to be released on the 21st of November, is the sequel of a two-film version of the acclaimed stage production Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected friendship between two contrasting sorceresses.

The musical itself is a derivative of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and received a dozen Academy Award nods, winning several for best costume and production design.
