In 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a glimpse into the plot but leaving viewers wondering how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

In the teaser reveals the young girl — who inherited Andy's toys when he left for college — receiving a latest plaything, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie acquires her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like the rest of her playthings. However, the toys seem to view it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it probably is.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

An element the teaser doesn't touch on is why Woody is returned with his friends in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (the actress), journeying with a fair and assisting prize toys locate loving owners.

Certainly, the filmmakers will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him appear in the familiar setting without warning is somewhat puzzling, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have returned with him. And where is the stuntman toy (the star)?

Connections from the Last Installment

At the very least, some aspects are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing Woody did before departing for his fresh path was hand over his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (the voice actor), entrusting her as the leader of the toy domain. In the teaser displays the badge attached to her shirt.

Hopefully she is still the key figure among the toys.
